حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْقَاصُّ وَهُو أَبُوالْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

لَا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ بِاللهِ الظَّنَّ، فَإِنَّ قَوْمًا قَدْ أَرْدَاهُمْ سُوءُ ظَنِّهِمْ بِاللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] فَقَالَ اللهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]: وَذَلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ الَّذِي ظَنَنْتُمْ بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَاكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُمْ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ.

✧ None of you should die except while thinking well of Allah, for a people were destroyed by their evil thoughts about Allah [Mighty and Majestic]. Allah [Mighty and Majestic] said: "And that was your thought which you thought about your Lord; it has ruined you, and you have become among the losers."
