حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ شِنْظِيرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

خَمِّرُوا الْآنِيَةَ، وَأَوْكُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ، وَأَجِيفُوا الْبَابَ، وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ عِنْدَ الرُّقَادِ فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ رُبَّمَا اجْتَرَّتِ الْفَتِيلَةَ فَأَحْرَقَتِ الْبَيْتَ، وَاكْفِتُوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ، عِنْدَ الْمَسَاءِ فَإِنَّ لِلْجِنِّ انْتِشَارًا وَخَطْفَةً

Translation

✧ Cover the vessels, tie up the water-skins, close the doors, and extinguish the lamps at bedtime, for the little mischief-maker (the mouse) may drag the wick and burn down the house. And keep your children indoors at evening, for the jinn spread out and snatch.
