حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ السُّنْبُلَةِ تَسْتَقِيمُ مَرَّةً وَتَخِرُّ مَرَّةً، وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مَثَلُ الْأَرْزَةِ لَا تَزَالُ مُسْتَقِيمَةً حَتَّى تَخِرَّ وَلَا تَشْعُرُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ The likeness of the believer is the likeness of a stalk of grain: sometimes it stands upright and sometimes it topples. And the likeness of the disbeliever is the likeness of a cedar tree: it remains standing upright until it falls without realizing it.
