حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ حَتَّى نَزَلْنَا السُّقْيَا، فَقَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ: مَنْ يَسْقِينَا فِي أَسْقِيَتِنَا؟ قَالَ جَابِرٌ: فَخَرَجْتُ فِي فِئَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا الْمَاءَ الَّذِي بِالْأُثَايَةِ وَبَيْنَهُمَا قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِيلًا فَسَقَيْنَا فِي أَسْقِيَتِنَا، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بَعْدَ عَتَمَةٍ إِذَا رَجُلٌ يُنَازِعُهُ بَعِيرُهُ إِلَى الْحَوْضِ فَقَالَ: أَوْرِدْ، فَإِذَا هُوَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَوْرَدَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ بِزِمَامِ نَاقَتِهِ فَأَنَخْتُهَا فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَتَمَةَ وَجَابِرٌ فِيمَا ذَكَرَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بَعْدَهَا ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَجْدَةً.

✧ We returned with the Messenger of God ﷺ at the time of al-Hudaybiya until we camped at al-Suqya. Mu'adh b. Jabal said, 'Who will draw water for us into our water-skins?' Jabir said: I went out with a group of the Ansar until we came to the water at al-Uthaya, between which and there is about twenty-three miles. We drew water into our water-skins. Then, after nightfall, a man appeared whose camel was pulling him to the watering-trough. He said, 'Let it drink.' It was the Prophet ﷺ. He let it drink, then I took hold of his she-camel's halter and made it kneel. He stood and prayed the night prayer, with Jabir, as he mentioned, at his side. Then he prayed after it thirteen prostrations.
