✧ I said to Sa'd b. Malik: 'I want to ask you about a hadith, but I am in awe of you to ask you about it.' He said: 'Do not do that, O son of my brother. If you know that I have knowledge, ask me about it, and do not be in awe of me.' He said: 'I said: What the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to 'Ali when he left him behind in Madinah during the expedition to Tabuk.' Sa'd said: 'The Prophet ﷺ left 'Ali behind in Madinah during the expedition to Tabuk. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, are you leaving me behind with the women and children?" He said: "Are you not pleased to be to me as Harun was to Musa?" He said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Then 'Ali turned away hurrying, as if I could see the dust rising from his feet."'
