✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to close the doors, to tie the waterskins, to extinguish the lamps, and to restrain our livestock until the deep darkness of the night has passed. He forbade a man from eating with his left hand, from walking in a single sandal, from wrapping himself in a single garment with no opening for his arms (al-ṣammāʾ), and from sitting with his legs drawn up wrapped in a single garment (al-iḥtibāʾ).
