حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ
مَنْ خَافَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ لَا يَقُومَ بِاللَّيْلِ، فَلْيُوتِرْ، ثُمَّ يَنَامُ، وَمَنْ طَمِعَ مِنْكُمْ بِقِيَامٍ فَلْيُوتِرْ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ، فَإِنَّ قِرَاءَةَ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ مَحْضُورَةٌ، وَذَلِكَ أَفْضَلُ.
Translation

✧ Whoever of you fears that he will not get up at night should pray witr, then sleep. And whoever of you hopes to get up should pray witr at the end of the night, for the recitation at the end of the night is witnessed, and that is better.
