حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

عُذِّبَتِ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرٍّ - أَوْ هِرَّةٍ - رَبَطَتْهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَلَمْ تُرْسِلْهُ فَيَأْكُلَ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ، فَوَجَبَتْ لَهَا النَّارُ بِذَلِكَ.

Translation

  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ A woman was punished on account of a cat—or a she-cat—which she tied up until it died and did not let it loose so that it could eat of the vermin of the earth. Thus the Fire became her due for that.
