حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
لَا تَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ، فَإِنَّ هَوْلَ الْمَطْلَعِ شَدِيدٌ، وَإِنَّ مِنَ السَّعَادَةِ أَنْ يَطُولَ عُمْرُ الْعَبْدِ، وَيَرْزُقَهُ اللهُ الْإِنَابَةَ.

✧ Do not wish for death, for the terror of the place of rising is severe. Indeed, it is part of happiness that a servant's life is prolonged and that Allah grants him the ability to turn to Him in repentance.
