حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ
غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ غَزْوَةً، قَالَ جَابِرٌ: لَمْ أَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا، وَلَا أُحُدًا، مَنَعَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ قَطُّ.

✧ I went on nineteen military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Jabir said: I did not witness Badr or Uhud; my father prevented me. He said: When Abdullah was killed on the day of Uhud, I never stayed behind from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in any expedition.
