حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَاسْتَسْقَى مَاءً، فَقَالَ [لَهُ] رَجُلٌ: أَلَا أَسْقِيكَ نَبِيذًا ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى. قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ يَسْعَى. قَالَ: فَجَاءَ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ نَبِيذٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَلَا خَمَّرْتَهُ ! وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا. قَالَ: ثُمَّ شَرِبَ.

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and he asked for water. A man said to him, “Shall I give you nabidh to drink?” He said, “Yes.” So the man went out quickly. Then he came with a vessel containing nabidh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Why did you not cover it, even if only by placing a stick across it?” Then he drank.
