حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَنُصِيبُ مِنَ الْبُسْرِ، وَمِنْ كَذَا، فَقَالَ: مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا، أَوْ لِيُحْرِثْهَا أَخَاهُ، وَإِلَّا فَلْيَدَعْهَا.

✧ We used to do sharecropping in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and we would get some unripe dates and such. He said: 'Whoever has land, let him cultivate it or give it to his brother to cultivate; otherwise, let him leave it.'
