✧ When this surah was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Indeed, you are to die, and indeed they are to die. Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, will dispute' (al-Zumar 39:30-31), al-Zubayr said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will what was between us in this world be repeated for us, along with the specific sins?' He said, 'Yes, it will certainly be repeated for you until every possessor of a right is given his right.' Al-Zubayr said, 'By Allah, the matter is indeed severe.'

machine translation"And what delight are we to be asked about, when it is only the two black things (dates and water)?" He said: "Indeed, that will come to be." It was narrated by Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah, from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr, from Yaḥyā, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr, from al-Zubayr. Ziyād b. Ayyūb narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah and did not mention Ibn al-Zubayr in it; he cut it short and made it mursal (disconnected by omitting the Companion). The correct statement is that of the one who connected it.
