حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

كَانَ خَالِي يَرْقِي مِنَ الْعَقْرَبِ، فَلَمَّا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرُّقَى أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّكَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الرُّقَى، وَإِنِّي أَرْقِي مِنَ الْعَقْرَبِ، فَقَالَ: مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَ أَخَاهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ.

✧ My maternal uncle used to recite incantations for scorpion stings. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade incantations, he came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have forbidden incantations, yet I recite incantations for scorpion stings." He said, "Whoever is able to benefit his brother, let him do so."
