Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon a man among his Companions to visit him, and he had become like a chick. He said to him: "Have you asked God [Mighty and Majestic] for anything?" He said: "I said: O God, whatever punishment You would inflict on me in the Hereafter, hasten it for me in this world." The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "You have no strength for God's punishment. Why did you not say: O God, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire?"
