✧ When [the verse] 'You will not attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love' was revealed, Abu Talha said: 'O Messenger of God, I see that our Lord asks us from our wealth, and I call you to witness that I have made my land Bayruha for God, Mighty and Majestic.' He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Make it for your relatives.' So he divided it between Hassan b. Thabit and Ubayy b. Ka'b.
Notes
ʿAffān said: and Yazīd said; from Ḥumayd; from Anas: Barīḥā, and ʿAffān said: I asked about it from more than one person of the people of Medina and they claim that is it Bayru¯hāʾ and that Barīḥā is not valid.
