حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ وَشُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
مَا مِنْ نَفْسٍ تَمُوتُ لَهَا عِنْدَ اللهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] خَيْرٌ يَسُرُّهَا أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّ لَهَا الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، إِلَّا الشَّهِيدَ يَتَمَنَّى أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُقْتَلَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ

✧ There is no soul that dies, having with Allah [Mighty and Majestic] what is good, but it would be pleased to return to this world even if it had the world and all it contains—except the martyr, who wishes to return and be killed again in the world, because of the excellence of martyrdom he sees.
