حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى رِعْلٍ وَذَكْوَانَ وَبَنِي فُلَانٍ، وَعُصَيَّةَ عَصَوُا اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ. قَالَ مَرْوَانُ: يَعْنِي فَقُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ: قَنَتَ عُمَرُ؟ قَالَ: عُمَرُ ! لَا.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed qunut for a month, supplicating against Ri'l, Dhakwan, Banu Fulan, and 'Usayyah; they disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. Marwan said: meaning, so I said to Anas: Did 'Umar perform qunut? He said: 'Umar! No.
