✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the Ansar and said: 'Is there anyone among you other than yourselves?' They said: 'No, except a nephew of ours.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The nephew of a people is one of them.' Hajjaj said: 'or from themselves.' He then said: 'Quraysh have only recently left ignorance and calamity, and I wanted to win them over and reconcile them. Are you not pleased that the people return with worldly gains while you return with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to your homes? If the people took a valley and the Ansar took a mountain pass, I would take the mountain pass of the Ansar.'
