حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَ فَزَعٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ؛ فَاسْتَعَارَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَسًا [لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ]، يُقَالُ لَهُ: مَنْدُوبٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ فَزَعٍ، وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا

Translation

✧ There was an alarm in Madinah, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ borrowed a horse from Abu Talhah called Mandub. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We have seen no cause for alarm, and if we found it, it would indeed be a sea.'
