حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]، فَلَا يَبْزُقَنَّ. قَالَ: قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ: فَلَا يَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is in prayer, they are communing with their Lord, so they should not spit. Hajjaj said, 'They should not spit in front of them or to their right, but rather to their left, beneath their feet.'"
