✧ They asked the Prophet of Allah ﷺ one day until they exhausted him with questioning. Then one day he went out and ascended the minbar and said: You will not ask me today about anything but I will inform you of it. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ feared that something was about to happen. He said: I began looking right and left, and I found every man wrapping his head in his garment, weeping. Then a man who used to be reviled and called by other than his father stood up and said: O Prophet of Allah, who is my father? He said: Your father is Hudhāfa. He said: Then ʿUmar stood up, or he said: Then ʿUmar began, and said: We are content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger, seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of trials. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I have never seen like this day in good and evil. Paradise and Hell were depicted for me until I saw them on the other side of this wall.
