حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِأَخٍ لِي لِيُحَنِّكَهُ فِي الْمِرْبَدِ، قَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَسِمُ شَاءً، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: فِي آذَانِهَا

Translation

✧ I brought one of my brothers to the Prophet ﷺ in the mirbad (enclosure for dates) so that he would perform tahnik on him. He said: I saw him branding sheep — I think he said: on their ears.
