حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُخْتَارُ بْنُ فُلْفُلٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةً؛ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي إِمَامُكُمْ فَلَا تَسْبِقُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ وَلَا بِالسُّجُودِ وَلَا بِالْقِيَامِ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي. ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ رَأَيْتُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا رَأَيْتَ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed a prayer, then turned to us and said: "I am your imam, so do not precede me in bowing, prostration, or standing, for I see you from in front of me and from behind me." Then he said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you saw what I saw, you would laugh little and weep much." They said: "O Messenger of God, what did you see?" He said: "I saw Paradise and the Fire."
