حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَبْيَضِ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِنَا الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ مُحَلِّقَةٌ، ثُمَّ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى قَوْمِي وَهُمْ فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَجِدُهُمْ جُلُوسًا، فَأَقُولُ لَهُمْ: قُومُوا فَصَلُّوا؛ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ صَلَّى
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in the afternoon prayer while the sun was white and high. Then I would return to my people, who were in a part of Madinah, and find them sitting. I would say to them, “Stand and pray, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has already prayed.”
