حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ
ثَارَتْ أَرْنَبٌ فَتَبِعَهَا النَّاسُ فَكُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ سَبَقَ إِلَيْهَا، فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ، قَالَ: فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَذُبِحَتْ، ثُمَّ شُوِيَتْ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَخَذَ عَجُزَهَا، فَقَالَ: ائْتِ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: إِنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْكَ بِعَجُزِ هَذِهِ الْأَرْنَبِ، قَالَ: فَقَبِلَهُ مِنِّي
Translation

✧ A hare bolted, and the people pursued it. I was among the first to reach it, so I caught it and brought it to Abū Ṭalḥa. He said: He ordered it to be slaughtered and then roasted. He said: Then he took its hindquarter and said, “Take it to the Prophet ﷺ.” He said: I brought it to him and said, “Abū Ṭalḥa has sent you the hindquarter of this hare.” He said: He accepted it from me.
