حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ عَمَلَهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ. قَالَ حَسَنٌ: أَعْمَالَهُمْ. قَالَ: الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ. قَالَ ثَابِتٌ: فَكَانَ أَنَسٌ إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّا نُحِبُّكَ وَنُحِبُّ رَسُولَكَ
Translation

✧ A man said: 'O Messenger of God, a man loves a people but has not reached [the level of] their deeds?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'A person is with those whom he loves.' Hasan said: 'their deeds.' He said: 'A person is with those whom he loves.' Thabit said: 'Whenever Anas narrated this hadith, he would say: O God, we love You and we love Your Messenger.'
