حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَعِشْرِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ
سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَقْرَأُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ ؟ فَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ، فَإِذَا رَكَعْتُمْ، فَعَظِّمُوا اللهَ، وَإِذَا سَجَدْتُمْ، فَاجْتَهِدُوا فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ، فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ

✧ A man asked him: Should I recite in bowing and prostration? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I have been forbidden to recite in bowing and prostration. So when you bow, glorify Allah; and when you prostrate, strive in supplication, for then it is likely that you will be answered.
