حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ نُجَيٍّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ
كَانَتْ لِي سَاعَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَنْفَعُنِي اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي بِهَا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ وَلَا كَلْبٌ وَلَا جُنُبٌ، قَالَ: فَنَظَرْتُ، فَإِذَا جَرْوٌ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ تَحْتَ السَّرِيرِ، فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ

✧ I had an hour with the Messenger of God ﷺ at night in which God, Mighty and Majestic, would benefit me as He willed. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'The angels do not enter a house in which there is an image, a dog, or a ritually impure person.' He said: So I looked, and there was a puppy belonging to al-Hasan b. Ali under the bed, so I took it out.
