حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ فَقَالَ
شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ، فَقَالَ: اصْبِرُوا؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ عَامٌ أَوْ يَوْمٌ إِلَّا الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]. سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ

✧ We complained to Anas b. Malik about what we were facing from al-Hajjaj, and he said: "Be patient, for no year or day comes upon you except that the one after it is worse than it, until you meet your Lord [Mighty and Majestic]. I heard it from your Prophet ﷺ."
