حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ تُقَامُ، فَيُكَلِّمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الرَّجُلَ فِي حَاجَةٍ تَكُونُ لَهُ، فَيَقُومُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ، فَمَا يَزَالُ قَائِمًا يُكَلِّمُهُ، فَرُبَّمَا رَأَيْتُ بَعْضَ الْقَوْمِ يَنْعَسُ مِنْ طُولِ قِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَهُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  3. Thābit al-Bunānī
  4. Anas b. Mālik

✧ The prayer would be commenced, and the Prophet ﷺ would speak to a man about some need he had, and he would stand between him and the qibla. He would remain standing talking to him, and sometimes I saw some of the people dozing off from the length of the Prophet's ﷺ standing for him.
