✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so has a palm tree, and I am setting up my wall with it. Order him to give it to me so that I can set up my wall with it. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Give it to him for a palm tree in Paradise. He refused. Abu al-Dahdah came to him and said: Sell me your palm tree for my wall. He did so, then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have bought the palm tree for my wall. He said: Make it his, for I have given it to you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: How many heavy-laden date clusters will Abu al-Dahdah have in Paradise—repeating it several times. Then he went to his wife and said: O Umm al-Dahdah, leave the wall, for I have sold it for a palm tree in Paradise. She said: A profitable sale—or a word like it.
