✧ There was a heavy man who was not able to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he said to the Prophet ﷺ: I am not able to pray with you, so would you come to my house and pray so that I can follow you? The man prepared some food, then invited the Prophet ﷺ. He sprinkled the edge of a mat of theirs, and the Prophet ﷺ prayed two rak'ahs. A man from the family of al-Jarud said to Anas: Did the Prophet ﷺ use to pray the forenoon prayer? He said: I did not see him pray it except on that day.

machine translationIt is narrated by Shuʿbah, Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī, Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ and Ibn ʿAwn, and there is disagreement about him. Shuʿbah said: from Anas b. Sīrīn, "I heard Anas." Ayyūb and Khālid said: from Anas b. Sīrīn, from Anas. Ibn ʿAwn differed from them, and narrated it from Anas b. Sīrīn, from ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. al-Mundhir b. al-Jārūd, from Anas. Ibn ʿUlayyah, Muʿādh b. Muʿādh, Ashhal b. Ḥātim and Ibn Abī ʿAdī said this. Ḥammād b. Zayd said: from Ibn ʿAwn, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Anas. Ibn Idrīs said: from Ibn Sīrīn, without naming him, from Anas. The correct statement is the statement of Shuʿbah and those who followed him.
