✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ would mix with us so much that he said to a young brother of mine: 'O Abū ʿUmayr, what did the little bird do?' — a bird he used to play with. He said: A carpet of ours was sprinkled. He said: He prayed on it, and he lined us up behind him.

machine translationShuʿbah narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Yaḥyā b. al-Mundhir al-Ḥajarī, a Kūfan, narrated it from Ibn Idrīs, from Shuʿbah, from Jaʿfar b. Iyās, from Anas. Saʿīd b. ʿĀmir contradicted him and narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Qatādah, from Anas. Both are mistaken (wahm); the correct version is from Shuʿbah, from Abū al-Tayyāḥ, from Anas.
