✧ A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him of need. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Do you have anything? He brought him a saddle cloth and a bowl. The Prophet ﷺ said: Who will buy these? A man said: I will take them for a dirham. He said: Who will give more than a dirham? The people remained silent. He said: Who will give more than a dirham? A man said: I will take them for two dirhams. He said: They are yours. Then he said: Begging is not permissible except for one of three: one with severe blood loss, one with a crushing debt, or one in abject poverty.
