✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the Day of Sacrifice: Whoever slaughtered before the prayer should repeat it. A man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, this is a day when meat is desired—and he mentioned a need of his neighbors—and it was as if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ believed him. He said: I have a jadha'ah that is dearer to me than two meat sheep. He said: So he gave him a concession. I do not know whether his concession reached others or not. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to two rams and slaughtered them, and the people went to a small flock and divided it—or he said: and distributed it.

machine translationIbn ʿAwn narrates it from Ibn Sīrīn, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Bakrah, from his father, but he erred in it (wahima). Rather, Ibn Sīrīn narrated it from Anas b. Mālik. Likewise Ayyūb and Hishām narrated it from Ibn Sīrīn, and that is the correct version.
