حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، إِمْلاءً عَلَيَّ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالنَّهَارِ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ يُصَلِّي سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً، قَالَ: يُصَلِّي إِذَا كَانَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ هَاهُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَاهُنَا كَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي إِذَا كَانَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ هَاهُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَا هُنَا كَصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ، وَبَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَقَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ

✧ It was asked about the daytime prayer of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: He used to pray sixteen units. He said: He would pray when the sun was from here, like its position from here, like the afternoon prayer, two units; and he would pray when the sun was from here, like its position from here, like the noon prayer, four units; and he would pray before noon four units, and after noon two units, and before afternoon four units.
