حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ الْأَصَمِّ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ لَا أَحْسِبُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ، وَلَكِنَّ الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ، وَاللهِ مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْفَقْرَ، وَلَكِنِّي أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ التَّكَاثُرَ وَمَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْخَطَأَ، وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَمْدَ.

✧ Wealth is not from abundance of goods; rather wealth is self-sufficiency of the soul. By Allah, I do not fear poverty for you, but I fear for you excess, and I do not fear error for you, but I fear deliberate wrongdoing.
