حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ زِيَادٍ الْحَارِثِيِّ

سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَنْهَى النَّاسَ أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فِي نِعَالِهِمْ قَالَ: هَا وَرَبِّ هَذِهِ الْحُرْمَةِ هَا وَرَبِّ هَذِهِ الْحُرْمَةِ [هَا وَرَبِّ هَذِهِ الْحُرْمَةِ] لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ يُصَلِّي إِلَى هَذَا الْمَقَامِ فِي نَعْلَيْهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَهُمَا عَلَيْهِ.

Translation

✧ I heard a man ask Abu Hurayrah: "Are you the one who forbids people to pray in their sandals?" He said: "Indeed, by the Lord of this sacred place, indeed, by the Lord of this sacred place, indeed, by the Lord of this sacred place, I saw Muhammad ﷺ praying facing this station (Maqam) in his sandals, then he left while they were still on him."
