حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَعَى النَّجَاشِيَّ لِأَصْحَابِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ كَمَا يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَائِزِ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced the death of the Negus to his companions, then said: “Seek forgiveness for him.” Then he went out with his companions to the prayer place and stood and led them in prayer as one prays over the dead.
