حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُهُ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ إِذَا حَجَّ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَيُكَبِّرُ خَلْفَ الرُّكُوعِ وَخَلْفَ السُّجُودِ، فَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَشْبَهُكُمْ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ.

Translation

  4. Abū Hurayrah

✧ Marwan used to appoint him over the prayer when he went on Hajj or Umrah. He would lead the people in prayer and say the takbir after bowing and after prostrating. When he finished, he said: Indeed I am the most resembling among you in prayer to the Messenger of God ﷺ.
