✧ While a man was walking along a road, he became intensely thirsty. He found a well, went down into it, and drank. Then he came out, and there was a dog panting, eating the moist earth out of thirst. The man said, "This dog has reached the same level of thirst that had reached me." So he went down into the well, filled his leather sock, held it in his mouth, climbed up, and gave the dog water. Allah [Mighty and Majestic] thanked him and forgave him. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, do we get reward for animals?" He said, "In every living creature there is reward."
