حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ وَأَبُو عَامَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ عَجْلَانَ مَوْلَى الْمُشْمَعِلِّ وَقَالَ أَبُو عَامَرٍ مَوْلَى حَكِيمٍ وَقَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ مَوْلَى حَمَاسٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
لَا تَسَابَّ وَأَنْتَ صَائِمٌ، فَإِنْ سَبَّكَ أَحَدٌ فَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَائِمًا فَاقْعُدْ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

✧ Do not insult while you are fasting. If someone insults you, say, 'I am fasting.' And if you are standing, then sit. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
