حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

مَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةَ ضَلَالٍ فَاتُّبِعَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ أَوْزَارِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْءٌ، وَمَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةَ هُدًى فَاتُّبِعَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أُجُورِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْءٌ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Sufyān b. Ḥusayn
  3. al-Ḥasan Yuḥaddith
  4. Abū Hurayrah
  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Whoever establishes a practice of misguidance and is followed in it, upon him shall be the like of their burdens without that diminishing anything from their burdens. And whoever establishes a practice of guidance and is followed in it, for him shall be the like of their rewards without that diminishing anything from their rewards.
