حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ ﷻ قَالَ

لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ كَفَّارَةٌ، وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ.

Translation

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, narrating from his Lord ﷻ: “For every deed there is an expiation, but fasting is for Me, and I Myself reward for it. And the odor from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasing to Allah than the fragrance of musk.”
