حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي لَيْثٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍأَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ
انْتَدَبَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِمَنْ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا الْإِيمَانُ بِي، وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِي، أَنَّهُ عَلَيَّ ضَامِنٌ حَتَّى أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِأَيِّهِمَا [مَا] كَانَ: إِمَّا بِقَتْلٍ وَإِمَّا بِوَفَاةٍ أَوْ أَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ، نَالَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ.

✧ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has pledged for the one who goes forth in His path, nothing sending him out except faith in Me and struggle in My path, that he is guaranteed by Me until I admit him to Paradise—whichever of the two it may be: either by being killed or by death—or I return him to the dwelling from which he went forth, having attained what he attained of reward or spoils.
