حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

أَسْرِعُوا بِجَنَائِزِكُمْ، فَإِنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا عَجَّلْتُمُوهُ إِلَيْهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا أَلْقَيْتُمُوهُ عَنْ عَوَاتِقِكُمْ أَوْ قَالَ: عَنْ ظُهُورِكُمْ.

Translation

✧ Hasten with your funerals, for if [the deceased] was good, you are advancing him toward it, and if he was evil, you are casting it off your shoulders—or he said: off your backs.
