حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
لَوْ سَلَكَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَوْ شِعْبَهُمْ، وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ. قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: وَمَا ظَلَمَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي لَقَدْ آوَوْهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ أَوْ وَاسَوْهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ.

✧ If the Ansar were to take a valley or a mountain pass, I would take the valley of the Ansar or their mountain pass, and were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansar. Abu Hurayrah said: And he did not wrong, by my father and mother, they sheltered him and supported him, or shared their wealth with him and supported him.
