حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَمِسْعَرٍ عَنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ وَقَالَ مِسْعَرٌ أَظُنُّهُ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

مَرُّوا عَلَى [رَسُولِ اللهِ] ﷺ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فَقَالَ: وَجَبَتْ ثُمَّ مَرُّوا عَلَيْهِ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا، فَقَالَ: وَجَبَتْ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ ؟ قَالَ: بَعْضُكُمْ شُهَدَاءُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ.

✧ A funeral procession passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they praised it with good, so he said, 'It is confirmed.' Then another funeral procession passed by him and they praised it with evil, so he said, 'It is confirmed.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what does "it is confirmed, it is confirmed" mean?' He said, 'Some of you are witnesses over others.'
