Translation
✧ Bashīr narrated to us, saying: He came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, “What is your name?” He said, “Zaḥm.” He said, “Rather, you are Bashīr.” While I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ, he said, “O son of al-Khaṣāṣiyya, what have you come to resent against Allah? You have come to walk with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” I said, “By my father and mother, I do not resent anything against Allah. Every good I have attained.” Then he came upon the graves of the polytheists and said, “These have already gone ahead with much good.” Then he came upon the graves of the Muslims and said, “These have attained much good.” Then there was a man wearing two sandals of sibtiyya leather walking among the graves, and he said, “O owner of the two sibtiyya sandals, cast off your sibtiyya sandals.” So he took off his sandals.
